2. Credit Searches
By submitting your application via the Smooth Car Finance website, you consent to us sharing your details with third-party credit reference agencies.
To assess your creditworthiness, we will conduct a soft search by sending your details to our panel of lenders. Your personal information may also be shared with fraud prevention agencies to help prevent fraud, money laundering, and to verify your identity. If fraud is detected, you could be denied certain services, finance, or employment opportunities.

The lenders we work with will perform their own soft search of your credit file, using the information you've provided. This will not leave a trace on your credit report. However, if your application is approved and you proceed to complete your finance agreement, a footprint will be recorded on your credit file by the lender you choose.
If you do not wish for Smooth Car Finance to submit your details to credit reference agencies, please do not proceed with your application.
3. Finance Options
Once you apply, your details will be shared with our trusted lenders, who will conduct their own credit checks and may verify your details with fraud prevention agencies. We work with a variety of lenders, providing a broad range of credit options. As a credit broker, we will aim to secure the best possible finance offer for you.
While we do not offer specific advice or recommendations, we ensure you are provided with all the necessary information to make an informed decision. Smooth Car Finance may receive a commission from lenders for introducing your application to them. The commission is determined on a case-by-case basis. Rest assured, we do not charge you any fees for our services.
4. Regulated
Smooth Car Finance is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), with Firm Reference Number (FRN): 792998. As a credit broker, we do not act as a lender. We can introduce you to a select group of lenders who may be able to offer you finance for your purchase.
We may receive commission payments from these lenders if you choose to enter into an agreement with them. You are under no obligation to use these lenders, and we encourage you to obtain alternative quotes to ensure you are getting the best deal.
